Mink Deville, Ian Dury, Nick Lowe opening for Elvis Costello
Rubinoos (who rocked) opening for Elvis on Armed Forces tour.
Roxy Music opening for ELO
Patti Smith Group opening for Journey!
Graham Parker & The Rumour opening for Thin Lizzy.
Blaster's opening for Eric Clapton (who I found to be very boring)
Strangest by far: Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes opening for, get this, Lynrd Skynrd.

Replacements opening for X. Mat's were extremely drunk, as usual. Bob walked off stage, Paul calling people from audience to jam with them. My first impression was what the f*ck? Bob comes back, they break into "Left Of The Dial," I bought Tim next day and never looked back.

Saw Blondie booed off stage opening for Iggy w/Bowie on keys(great version of Be My Wife)in Detroit. Following summer, with release of Parallel Lines, they were called back for two encores.

MB: Saw REM on that tour. 10 people in the audience and they were absolutley great & nice guys to boot.

Marshall Crenshaw opening for Dave Edmunds.
Rockpile opening for Van Morrison

Regarding Dwight Twilley's new release, if you can find it, get it. It's WONDERFUL. Bill P is one of rock's finest guitarist. IMHO.

That's all folks!

Barry
