Yeah, that takes the cake! I saw a few odd combos back in the day: The
Kate Brothers (huh?) opening for Sheer Heart Attack era Queen (wow!); Tom
Petty/Edgar Winter Group/J Giels Band (great show, Giels tore the roof of
the mutha!); The Upbeats opening for Marshall Crenshaw (hi Greg!), to name a
few...
Also saw Sheryl Crow open for Crowded House in Columbia, OH - Sheryl
couldn't touch CH, but she was quite good for a rookie and held her own - I
remember thinking, this act will make it (though little did I know how
monster big she would get...)
