R.E.M Nov. 1982 Madame Wongs West Santa Monica Ca.
They opened for my band at the time Burning Sensations.
There were maybe 30-40 people there at the time of their set
They barely had the first EP and a few very cool covers
and Radio Free Europe of course
they were a revelation
Really wild on stage
Peter Buck Tonwsended his amp
Mike Mills spun in circles
Stipe was all over the stage.
and I remember clearly him going out of his way to say how much he liked us
However both of us knew what was about to take place
It's an amazing feeling when you're watching a band that will soon rule the
world
our 1st Eps each had songs with Carnival of
in their titles
This is where the story ends
