I saw Aztec Camera open for Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians...but, after
a lovely acoustic set by Roddy, I really just couldn't bring myself to stick
around for more than a few songs by the Bohemains. There was no way I was
going to stick it out for over an hour just to hear "What I Am" and
"Circle." I later interviewed Roddy and told him about how a lot of folks
had only come to see him, and he said, "Ah, don't diss Edie..."
Most bizarre pairing that I can recall was the Greenberry Woods opening for
Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine. I don't know if there's still a Huseman
subscribed to Audities or not, but, wow, what an odd combination. Great
show by both bands, but, still, who put those two bands together...?
