Evidently, Rupert Holmes hoping it would get banned. He had a friend, an 
engineer for Scepter Records, Michael Wright, who found the Buoys. Rupert 
and his friend (Michael Wright) got a deal whereby Scepter would release one 
song they put together, but they knew it would not be promoted properly. So 
Rupert decided to make the most of the opportunity by getting the maximum 
attention from the song through its controversial cannibalism lyrics.
