if you're familiar with friendster, it's similar to
that, but BETTER. basically, you sign up for an
account, you create a profile, add some pics, and find
some friends. typically you may already know someone
who's on there and you can connect with them. Then
you can connect with their friends!
From a musician's standpoint it's an insanely fun and
easy way to network with bands. An added bonus for
music, is that you can load up mp3s to the player on
there and people can hear what it all sounds like,
which is probably the best feature of all. This way
you'll be able to know which bands you'd simply be a
fan of and which ones you would be a great match for
sharing a gig.
For those of us who are on the fan side of it or
haven't quite mastered a musical instrument yet, it's
cool too! and you can have your own myspace blog.
they're still working out a lot of kinks and tend to
have maintenance issues every so often, but it seems
they've made it much easier for bands to network, at
least according the message they sent out today in the
newsletter.
