The February 2005 Fufkin.com page is up. This month we
have the following record reviews:

Mike Bennett presents full length reviews of the
latest from ‘60s revivalists The Bees, Joy Zipper,
Alva Star, Outrageous Cherry (speaking of ‘60s
revivalists) and the new Cars tribute album. Mike
also has capsule reviews from The Marlboro Chorus,
Rich Serafin, Statuesque, Prizeapart, The O.A.O.T.’s,
Men In Fur, Humbert, Boyracer, Your Team Ring and The
Dutch Elms.

Gary Glauber reviews the latest from Steve Barton of
Translator, Built Like Alaska, Grenadier, Jude
Johnstone, Tim Cullen, The Dotted Line and the Cars
tribute album.

James Baumann reviews the new Pernice Brothers live
album, a return to the studio from Magnapop, and the
latest from Watershed and The Mendoza Line.

Katherine Kim reviews a compilation from Italian pop
star Zucchero.

John Borack reviews a great new power pop compilation
from the Syracuse, New York radio show This Is Rock
‘n’ Roll Radio – it’s Volume 1.

We also do a final wrap up of 2004 – Bill Klutho has
his top records of 2004, while Kurt Sampsel runs down
his ten favorite psychedelic/garage reissues from last
year.

It’s too bad that Michael Lynch’s book on The Rolling
Stones is, as of this writing, unpublished. However,
you can benefit from his research and insight, as he
let’s all of us take a look at his chapter on the
band’s 12 X 5 album.

Alan Haber has a lot to say about radio and here’s
another incisive commentary from Mr. Haber.

The Cheepskates were around during the early garage
rock revival, with a folkier sound on some songs.
Gary Pig Gold makes like Joe Franklin and takes a trip
down Memory Lane to wax poetic about the ‘skates.

Speaking of books, Kim Cooper and David Smay, the
folks who bring you Scram Magazine, have put together
their second book, Lost In The Grooves. It’s an
affectionate tribute to overlooked and underrated
albums, by a stellar crew of writers. Mike Bennett
gives you the lowdown on the book and then picks 10
albums that he thinks could qualify for a sequel (so
if Kim or David are reading this...).

Kevin Matthews thankfully has enough time to crank out
another installment of So Much Music...So Little Time,
reviewing the latest from Thirdimension, Jam Camp,
Claire Moss, Plasmabat, Call Me Alice, Roger Salloom
and others.

Eric Sorensen probably doesn’t have a whole lot of
time to spare either, but his Further Observations of
a Jangly Music Fan will give you the 411 on some
recent shows he’s seen and new music from Smart Brown
Handbag, Brian Jay Cline, The Fire Apes, Magic
Christian, The Marlowes, The Edisons and more.

We hope you all come and visit us.
