I wanna give a big shout about the CD I haven't been able to pry from MY
player this week. I had the good fortune to see Portland based band
DERBY play here in Eugene, OR last Friday night and pick up their JUST
released CD "This Is the New You". Reviews on the website
(www.derbyrock.com) namecheck every hall of fame band we love in
Audities land, and it's the harmonies that are pulling that along.
Clocks in at 37 minutes, never lets you down and you can check out four
of the tracks over at myspace.com. And the remarkable thing is (IMO)
they left the two BEST tracks off that listing - so you can just raise
the expectation bar after hearing their tunes over there.
In the meantime you can also here them at some point on my radio show
(Snap, Crackle, POP!) this morning (about 20 minutes from now, 10am,
PST) on the web at http://www.kwvaradio.org . Or more directly at:
http://gladstone.uoregon.edu/~kwva/kwva.ram . Hmmm...just checked and
the webstream seems to be acting up. Give it a shot and I'll yell at
the station's engineer before going on-air.
