Jeff, I think Gene was stating that we are not actively or regularly playing
our vinyl collection. It would seem that ripping it to CD-R would lead to
even less need to play the vinyl versions.
As for myself, I tend to go through a phase once or twice a year where I
drag out a bunch of vinyl and rediscover some gems. Some times this interest
coincides with vinyl purchases made at flea markets or the rare record
convention. But I have to admit that it is simply more convenient to listen
to music in the digital domain. Portability is the main thing for me these
days! Which is why I also occasionally rip vinyl tracks to digital.
