Greetings,

I agree with the inimitable Mike G. on this. The Smithereens are a great
Rock & Roll band in every sense. I have been rediscovering their riches lately
via the recent 2 cd comp which is an endless treasure trove of classic songs.
Isn't it funny how a certain record or cd can become the soundtrack of your
life for a certain period? That happened to me quite a few times. I can
remember having a love affairs with The Zombies-Oddesy & Oracle....Roy
Wood's-Mustard....Talking Heads-77....EC&A-Imperial Bedroom....Love-Forever
Changes....Badfinger-Straight Up....Smithereens-Especially For You etc.
That feeling where you absolutely can't wait to sink into the atmosphere,
comfort and feeling that a particular record gives you and it becomes like a
soundtrack to whatever is going on in your life at that time and you never forget
it....ya' know?
