Does anyone know the inside track on this album? I've been reading
about a Jack White collaboration, but that's clearly not this album.
I thought Jason Falkner was no longer in Benson's picture, but there
are a few moments on the album which bear his mark - and some singing
that sounds rather Falkneresque. Was he involved in any way? I
didn't think so, so perhaps my ears are deceiving me. There's also a
female singer on at least one track, so I'm not sure who that is.
I have to say that the album's been growing on me since I first heard
it, and it's starting to sound like a very strong record. Time will
tell whether any of the individual songs will be as memorable as, say,
Folk Singer, I'm Blessed, Tiny Spark or I'm Easy.
For those who prefer to wait until official release dates, I don't
think you have anything to worry about. Just give it a few listens,
and it'll catch you.
Matt.
