At the risk of being highly self-promotional, if you happen to find yourself
in New York City with nothin' to do this Saturday (the 29th), I was hoping
you'd think about dropping by the Continental to check out The Breakup
Society. We have a song called "Robin Zander" on
that latest IPO comp, some of you mentioned our album on your year-end lists
and a lot of the press we've been getting name-checks artists you all know
and love, from the dB's and Big Star to Cheap Trick and Elvis Costello. The
sound is upbeat, trashy power-pop/garage and you can hear a couple tracks at
www.thebreakupsociety.com. Again, I hate to be so self-promotional, and I
promise to keep my future posts to subjects other than myself, like how
Fountains of Wayne deserve whatever money they can make (as do the Kinks, of
course) or how "Back to the Egg" is a pretty good album. Anyhow, our set is
at 8:45, and we promise to rock.
Thanks
Ed
