Yes, this is an old baseball reference, but do you know why it's on a Game
Theory comp?

Seems Scott Miller was a little league baseball whiz, and was thought to be
major league material! I guess he had "pitchers mound fright" and had to
give it up.

I'm always surprised that Lolita Nation is so highly rated. I think it's a
little over done. Big Shots is there best in my book. Real Night Time is
also a fave, but some of the songs suffer from a prog complex, and have too
many damn parts. I thought they were always great live. There was talk for
years of the Bozeman gig from 85 coming out as part of a box set, but this
seems to have fallen through.

I've liked The Louds too. I've seen them three or four times, with different
lineups.

Last time I talked to Scott, which may have been at the Soft Boys gig at the
Fillmore, he said he just couldn't afford to have a band anymore, and didn't
know if he'd do any more records. I'm surprised he didn't seem bitter that
Shalani left him for his best pal Mitch Easter! His previous, Donnette left
him for Steve Kilby, as documented in that film of the GT tour.

I think Scott does ok as a programmer....

At the SF Terrastock, I was talking to Scott, and Mick Farren walked by. Out
of the corner of my eye I saw him and had this strange flash back and
thought it was Dino Valenti. I laughed, and told Scott what I just thought
I'd seen. He took a look over to Farren, and noticing his big, dyed perm,
and said "don't laugh Ron, that could be me in a few years"...

If you can ever find the Alternate Learning EP, get it, it's some great
early SM...
