<<<This blast from the past got me thinking of other albums that I was way
into back then, but haven't given much thought let alone play to since - fer
instance:
City Boy - first four lps, esp Young Men Gone West
DL Byron - This Day and Age
Starz - the album with Cherry Baby (Violation?)
The Fabulous Poodles debut
Bram Tchiakovsky (sp?) - Strange Man Changed Man
David Werner - the album with Can't Imagine and Melanie Cries>>>

<<<Hokey smokes, Dave, throw in Cheap Trick albums one thru five, the first
two Off Broadway albums, and the Boomtown Rats' *A Tonic for the Troops*,
and you've just listed the soundtrack of my dorm room my freshman year of
college.
<<<The Fabulous Poodles (again, a different album for me: 1978's *Mirror
Stars*),
<<<But the self-titled David Werner album (with about six or
seven fantastic songs, including "Can't Imagine", "Every New Romance", and
"Eye to Eye") and D.L. Byron's *This Day and Age*
<<<It's criminal that neither has ever been
released on CD.
<<<Byron used Billy Joel's touring band to record that album. Who knew those
guys could rock?>>>

Greg - yeah, forgot Cheap Trick on my list - I never had any of the studio
albums until recently, but loved the Budokan lp back in the day. Also, the
Poodles LP I had was the one with Mirror Star - I thought this WAS their
debut? And I agree, its a cryin shame that the DL Byron and D Werner LPS
are not on CD. If anyone out there has burned these to CD, I'd love to
trade something for a CDR of that...

Had no IDEA that Byron used BJ's touring band! I do remember a BJ interview
around the time of Nylon Curtain (great album!) stating that Billy and the
boys were big fans of Squeeze and other similar pop bands of the day...

<<<Clive Gregson rules! WRONG END OF THE RACE has the impeccable "Open Fire"
as well as "Turning Up The Heat" and a cover of "Baby Now That I Found
You"...the s/t from 1983 doesn't have an obvious fave for me (but I do know
I liked all their stuff); also LIVE AT THE VENUE. Can't remember others
offhand, and some of my vinyl is not filed properly (hard to get good help
these days)>>>

Are any of these out on CD?

<<< City Boy, esp Young Men Gone West
Love all their stuff - Mike Slamer was a very underrated axe monster. YMGW
is killer - "I've Been Spun" (I've SOTT-ed this one before) is a great and
clever pop tune that I think most Auditeers would like, but they could rawk
too. There are two 2-fer CDs available plus an anthology CD.>>>

I gotta hunt these down!

<<< > Bram Tchiakovsky (sp?) - Strange Man Changed Man
First two (and an EP, as I recall) all fun stuff. I think I burned this to
CD, but if I didn't I will now!>>>

Now these 2 albums should be out as a CD twofer! Or a Brams T best of CD
would do. I remember liking or loving certain trax, but also remember
thinking some of the trax were filler. Does any such twofer or compilation
exist?
