I've been meaning to extol the virtues of Ben Folds' final installment in
his EP trilogy for a while now. There's an hugely wide palette of styles he
draws from - the excellent pseudo-ska Darkness tune "Get Your Hands Off My
Woman" (replete with incredible falsetto) to the
piano-ballad-cum-disco-string epic "Kalamazoo" to the proggish "Adelaide" to
the N'Awlins second line funk (and trademark goofy lyrics) of "Rent A Cop"
to a very serviceable Ray Charles cover as fitting tribute. Plenty of bang
for the buck on this EP, and it's gotten a ton of rotation in my CD player
over the past 6 months or so.
Anyone else dig this as much as me? I'm surprised there's been no chatter
about it at all.
Christopher
