HMV Japan appears to show a release date of and unidentified FoW album
on Mar 9. On a related note (perhaps already mentioned!?) - Ivy will
have a new album out within a couple months.

Count me in the generally pro-sellout corner. Fountains of Wayne are
poster children for overdue the opportunities now coming their way.

The true Who sellout of the CSI franchise disgusts me, though. I can't
barely hear those songs now without that crass association. Like the so
many tricks of the franchise (e.g. the wholly irrelevant use of Ground
Zero on the first episode of CSI:NY) the use of the Who is a cheap
emotional flashcard to elicit a response without doing the groundwork of
real stories and compelling characters (IMO :) ). I keep hoping to see
the franchise start to wither or at least slow - so I can hang on to my
hope that no more songs will be lost to cheapo TV.

And while on the topic of TV: amidst the hoopla surrounding the upcoming
appearance of FoW as the Hollies - I wanted to point out that on THIS
Sunday's show, the doppleganger band will be an incarnation of the Left
Banke. The guy who is playing Steve Martin (LB, not SNL) has recently
posted on the odd and insular community that is the Left Bank group on
Yahoo, so is indeed a true fan.

All for now,

-craig
