Miguel's - "the enduring power of the Beatles" - what was it that John
Lennon said? Something like "We were just a rock and roll band, that's
all".
Lennon was, IMO, being humble about all the hoopla... A well known fact
about Lennon is that he hated headsets in the recording studio as he
couldn't stand to hear himself... Does that make him less of one of rock n'
roll's greatest vocalists?... One's own opinion of oneself doesn't diminish
greatness if it is present... Lennon's humbleness by saying "We're just a
rock and roll band, that's all" makes him, and therefore The Beatles and
their subsequent post-Beatle efforts, IMO, even greater and worthy of
continuous posts such as the one we're having currently... Don't worry, the
posts will fade away eventually as other worthy (and not so) emerge... but
get ready to see them resurface at any given time...
