Excellent point. Lennon used to say that this was one of the secret weapons
of Paul's records. And it was why I thought "Figure of Eight" was such an
inspired choice to open the 89/90 tour, his first in a while; the song has a
very prominent bass line, and it was like coming out on the very first
number and dispelling any question whatsoever about his musical chops,
almost like a throwdown.
