#1 Thing I learned while trying to compile my year end
list: there is LOTS of great music out there!!! (Which
might explain why I couldn't limit it to just 20 and
waited almost till the last minute to post it....every
time I thought I had it figured out, I'd find out
about some other new release that that ended up being
a serious contender! Appologies to all the worthy
artists whos CDs I didn't find out about in
time/didn't get a chance to listen to before the
deadline that might have otherwise been on my list.)
Special Thanks to: Everyone on this list who posted
band recommendations throughout the year and/or who
posted their list earlier so that I could be reminded
of stuff I had forgotten about; Michael Bennett for
sponsoring these year end festivites; David Bash and
Andrea Kremer for keeping band links up on the IPO
site so those of us who can't travel the globe for IPO
can use them as a music shopping guide; Bruce Brodeen,
Jeremy Morris, Jaimie Vernon, and all the other indie
label guys on the list that provide a happy home for
great music.
