I think McCartney is polarizing; you are a sucker for his schtick, or you 
aint.  Personally I am.  I don't think he ever jumped the shark, although he 
has put out some lame stuff over the years.  But even his latest, Driving 
Rain, is on the near side of the shark (its better if you burn your own copy 
and replace "Freedom" at the end with "Vanilla Sky" though, the former being 
an example of said lameness.)
