Who is Mulberry Lane? I collect Christmas albums.

Hi Gene & All,

Mulberry Lane is a four sister act from Omaha. They were signed to MCA
in the late 90's and released two radio-pop albums. Amazing harmony
singers. They released a Christmas record in Nov '04. Two of the
sisters from the band have formed a spin off act called I-80 and are
working on their debut album for which I'm currently co-writing and
producing a single. Small world.

And Now I write:
Mulberry Lane had one single on their debut CD that hit the radio pretty hard in about '98, but then they faded fast. As Mark indicates, they are local Nebraska singers, so when they released their Christmas album and included a song called "Christmas in Nebraska," local radio jumped on it. THe fact that it's nice solid harmony pop with an upbeat tempo helps a lot too. The 4 sisters apparently do a lot of church singing, and you can tell it in some of the slower songs on the album. if you collect Christmas albums, it's one worth having.

My wife listens to it a lot while working in the kitchen, and my two boys (11 and 8) like it a lot too. I have a relatively low tolerance for Christmas music, so I'm not saying much about my own opinion. But I will say that if my wife is going to play a Christmas CD, this is one I'd prefer her to play.

(but for some reason, I have been entranced by the first Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas CD this last holiday season. I'm not sure why. There's not much about it that I would normally like, but it really hit a sweet spot for about 2 weeks in December for me. I'm not as enamored of the other two Christmas CDs and really disliked the Beethoven CD of theirs, but that first one did something right for my ears this christmas).

and to get back on the subject, I'm interested (not necessarily excited, but interested) to see how Mark's production works with the two sisters on the I-80 project.
