From Sam Smith <samsmith@colorado.edu>
Subject a small surprise

Just an observation that probably proves nothing besides the fact that
I'm a bit out of the loop, but I have to say I've been stunned by the
recent Franz Ferdinand thing, sort of. I like the record a lot, but the
surprising part for me is that FF is getting all the attention (and a
lot of well-deserved acclaim) while a similar act, The Killers, are
going comparatively unnoticed. For my part, I thought the Killers record
was a LOT better than FF, although I understand why some of you might
disagree with me.

And NO mention of The Format and The Faint, and very little on the
subject of Interpol. Hunh.

You may have success in life, but then just think of it -
what kind of life was it? What good was it - you've
never done the thing you wanted to do in all your life.
I always tell my students, go where your body and
soul want to go. When you have the feeling, then stay
with it, and don't let anyone throw you off.

                        - Joseph Campbell
