Now my question is does

I was not making a silly little comment about performers who do not write
their own material. I was merely suggesting that such comparisons were, in
my view, off the mark. In addition to my pop stuff, I am also a jazz
musician who has an understanding of the importance of interpretive art. I'm
merely suggesting that McKay is carving out a niche for herself which defies
comparison to these types of singers. I wasn't knocking them or their
contributions, just simply pointing out that when considering McKay's work,
maybe we might broaden our context a little.
