<<Back in 1990, when Jeff Lynne's distinctive stamp of production was really
hot, a release called Armchair Theatre slipped under the radar. I knew that
this CD had been out of print for some time and that it was fetching $50+ on
eBay/ Fifteen years and several girlfriends later, I finally found a
near-mint copy at a pawn shop here in St. Louis for $3. It's exactly as I remembered
it--full of great hooks and classic George Harrison slide guitar lines. Does
anyone else share my fondness for this release? If you have a copy, hold on
to it. It might be worth a few bucks.>>
I love this record, also. Chock full of hooks and proof of the theory that
in his own mad way, Lynne is a pop genius.
Don't think the "Armchair Theater" CD is worth all that much, though, as
I've seen copies go for less than $10 on eBay recently, including one that sold
for .99 cents.
