That would make sense, but both albums are on Yep Roc, and the Yep Roc
website claims that the V.O.T.E. album is still available! I have no
idea, but anyway: if anyone bought V.O.T.E. and are wondering whether
or not to get the new one, the new tracks are both instrumentals.
"Conspiracy Theory" is a typical Yo La Tengo noise blast, with
backwards guitars. "Dr. Strangelove's Assistant" features a bluegrass
band called Chatham County Line, playing underneath a fuzz-guitar riff
that I'm sure is Ira Kaplan, plus some whistling. Both tracks are
pretty cool, but really, unless you're a completist, you don't need to
get the new one if you already have V.O.T.E. Caveat emptor.
