[Part 1 text/plain iso-8859-1 (1.8 kilobytes)] (View Text in a separate window)

Purchase a pair of RCA cables (Radio Shack)... Look behind your amplifier /
receiver and locate the OUTPUT jacks... Connect the RCA's from the Output of
the receiver / amplifier to the INPUT of your cassette deck recorder... When
you press the "Record" button of the Sony tape player you should get the
record gauges to move as you play the record... Be careful that the gauges
don't "peak" (this means that they reach a healthy level of green to yellow
but never into the red for this will cause distortion ... but you do want
them to peak at the yellow for good tape saturation)... One final tip: When
you start to record let the tape spin for about 5 seconds before starting
the record; this will give enough time for the blank tape lead to spool and
your magnetic tape to reach the recording head... If you can practice the
"DJ" method by letting the record start to play and immediately holding the
record lightly with one finger and spinning it backwards to reach the very
second it stops making sounds... this way when you press record and wait 5
seconds you let go of the record and immediately your recording starts clean
without the tacky sounding pops and clicks of the blank space on the
record... Basically that's it... If you still have any questions send them
my way off list and I'll be happy to help!

Cheers,

Miguel
