1. If you're mean, you get attention...
2. Even when you think you're totally clear on what you're saying, you can,
and probably will be misunderstood..
3. It's hard (but not impossible) for little indie artists to get noticed
above major label releases..
4. This list is about power pop like Jessica Simpson is about integrity..
5. People say things they wouldn't normally say to people's faces..
6. Sometimes #6 is funny, sometimes it's hurtful, sometimes it's both..
7. People seem to like Michael Carpenter's old stuff better..
8. Everyone's opinions apparently aren't their own..
9. If i say the word "f*ck", Bob Hutton won't read this digest..
10. Mike Bennett has a spam filter.. but does a great job every year with
counting and moderating the Top 20..
11. John B, like in real life, loves the one liners.. almost always worth a
chuckle too...
12. David Bash listens to a LOT of music..
13. Jaimie Vernon posts a lot (not that there's anything wrong with that)
14. Stewart Mason likes a good list argument (not that there's anything
wrong with that)
15. Did i mention that i'm CERTAINLY bummed that people aren't voting for my
record as much as i'd like (not that there's anything wrong with that)
16. The list has changed (not for the worse, not for the better.. just
changed) from when Splitsville and Myracle Brah were kings, although it's
wonderful that Eugene, Cliff and Tallboy are still making their presence
felt...
17. No matter how careful i am with this post, somebody will still
misunderstand it..
18. Despite SMiLe polling well, not everybody 'get's it'...
19. Despite really wanting to unsubscribe, a lot of times, you clowns have
become so much a part of my life, and the day to day mechanics of my day,
that i just can't..
20. As an artist who sells very few records, but thinks that many of the
people on this list would like my records, i AM unapoligetically
disappointed by how few either haven't listened to my new album, or didn't
like it enough to rank it. (There i said it... does it make me a bad person
to be vain? Probably. Does it matter that people will find out that i also
use this forum to promote my own records.. including this post? Probably
not. Regardless, my punishment is to go to Not Lame right NOW and buy Adam
Marsland's new album that i've been meaning to buy for months, and then go
and listen to the Well Wishers CD again...)
