Without going back into the archives from previous Januaries, it sure seems like there have been more apologies than ever regarding people's inclusion of records that are "not exactly power pop" on their year-end list. Please tell me if I'm wrong, but although it's clear this list is rooted in our love for power pop, can't music appreciation run a little deeper or wider than that? Hell, there are plenty of '60s bands we all profess to love who did not churn out "exactly power pop" with each release. I say bring on your best of lists without apologies! This old fart needs to have as many options to consider catching up on as possible. Thanks.
