Turns out that our good friend Ira Rosen is having
trouble getting his posts on Audities -- and it was
his top 19 that I inadvertently deleted. Per Ira's
request, I am posting his top 19 of 2004:
1) Dolour - New Old Friends - Begining with one of the
best opening
lines I ever heard, "You look like I could use a
drink," this CD is a
sheer delight of 3 minute pure-form poppiness (no, I
have no idea what
that really means, but boy do I enjoy this CD!)
2) Chris Stamey - Travels in the South - One of the
best
produced/arranged CDs I've heard in a long time
3) The Jellybricks - Power This - Their best yet - I
love "Got Away"
4) The Rosenbergs - Department Store Girl - My
11-year-old's #1 for the
year
5) Scissor Sisters - S/T - The 70's is not dead yet...
6) The Mosquitos - Sunshine Barato
7) Grip Weeds - Giant on the Beach
8) Tim Lee - No Discretion
9) The Ditty Bops - S/T
10) The Bigger Lovers - This Affair Never Happened...
11) Poxy - S/T
12) Shalini - Metal Corner
13) A. C. Newman - Slow Wonder
14) Adam Marsland - You Don't Know Me
15) Cliff Hillis - Better Living Through Compression
16) The Marlowes - Glue, Glitter and Shine
17) Ed James - Big Time
18) Nellie McKay - Get Away From Me
19) Eugene Edwards - My Favorite Revolution
