Mike:
You'll get absolutely no argument out of me about Deacon's importance to
Queen. I'm a  massive fan of his bass playing and think he's consistently
underrated as a player and a songwriter. I still think he was right to bow
out of Queen though. For most folks, Freddie Mercury is the public face of
that band, and any version of Queen without him just isn't right.
If Rodgers wants to play with May and Taylor under some other name, then
that's fine. But I think they're polluting the legacy by trotting out these
ersatz versions of the band.
