I remember that when Elliott Smith died, you (Jaimie) said some
really (IMO) horrible and hateful things on this list about his
death itself (whether it was by suicide or his girlfriend killed him)...
and added even more comments about how you felt about
Smith's fans, of which I am one... (I think Stewart happily chimed
in with comments of his own to bring down the mood even further)...
I don't know why you feel you have to make a comment that's
particular hateful when someone dies, or is killed......maybe
there's something about a person dying (someone you might not
give a crap about, or maybe you just hate their music) and people
showing some kind of compassion or caring about it that brings
out a really ugly streak in your personality...and maybe you get
off by saying things which are somewhat callous and inappropriate
on this list...You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but hey,
here's a thought...why not keep it to yourself? ...Or maybe you
craze this kind of attention and really don't care what people
think about you....maybe you like it that some people think
you're an asshole...I don't know.
I'm just the opposite, I guess. I'd rather contribute to this list by
talking about bands I like, and about music that warms my heart
and makes me want to share it with others...but that's just me
(and David Bash seems to be that way, as do a lot of other folks
on this Audities list, and we all seem to get along fine). I don't
know why you (Jaimie), in particular, and some of the other
cranks on this list (you know who you are) feel it's appropriate to
always make some kind of shitty remark knowing that it might
upset people. Do you all really care so little for anyone else's
opinion? Maybe it has something to do with your personality?
I don't know...I've never met you, and really don't care to, to
be honest. Uh, hope it's okay if I "spoke my mind" onlist rather
than send you a personal email that you'd just ignore anyway...
Now, maybe we can get back to talkin' about music, rather than
sniping at each other?
