M. Motta:

<<Speaking of Christmas music there is a little know but incredible 2-CD set
recorded by The Fab Four (Beatles tribute band). This incredible little set is
beyond description; first of all The Fab 4 manage to nail JPG&R perfectly as
their voices and instruments are, for all purposes, the Beatles incarnate...
The novelty of this set is that they take Christmas standards and rearrange
them to sound like what The Beatles might've done if they got a hold of the
songs... For example; "Away in a Manger" is done ala "You've Got to Hide Your Love
Away" and when "John" sings... "... the little Lord Jesus asleep in the "Hey!"
(then the guitar refrain of the original Beatle song)... "Santa Claus is
Coming to Town"
is done in the style of "When I'm 64" all in all an incredible set of
tunes...Anyway I saw a used set go for a little under $9.00 at amazon.com and some
for $10.00 I believe... If you're a Beatle-maniac you might want to check it
out...>>

I was just mentioning these discs to Bruce Brodeen yesterday, which reminds
me of another similar CD from a few years back...The Beatmas. Same basic modus
operandi, Christmas tunes Beatled-up with the Fab-styled arrangements and
all, and lots of fun. Great for parties, too.
