I know Anna was jumping out of her skin w/ glee on
the new SS. Here's my take on it...
Songwriting and arrangements are top-notch
and the vocal harmonies are amazing...very full-bodied
and layered. The drum sound is horrible, however. The loudest
thing in the drum mix on most songs are the cymbals and the
drums themselves sound like wet cardboard boxes...buried so
low in the mix you can barely tell this is a rock record (were it
not for the loud, beefy, distorted guitar).
Their first record (from '96) is a much easier listen IMHO.
