While I didn't have the same problem you are having, I did remove all roxio
products. since upgradig to XP Pro I was having all sorts of problems with
not just burning software and wasting blanks, but I also had shutdown
problems and some major iPOD conflicts.
I did some google searches and found a few obscure hits linking my
problems to Roxio. I removed it and have been running problem free
for months now.
I use Nero for all my burning needs, and iTunes to rip my CDs to MP3.
