Hmmm, I've never seen them as either glam or Beach Boys influenced. To me
they were a bit lightweight and arty, and a lot of their songs featured a
nickleodeon. They released a few albums in the '70s and had a couple of big
UK hits, "Glass Of Champagne" and "Girls, Girls, Girls," which were in that
vein. In 1980 they released an album called "Dressed For Drowning", which
is among my 100 favorites of all time. With this album their songwriting
took a great leap forward, honing their theatrical chops and featuring some
amazing melodies. I wish someone like CBS Rewind would reissue this disc!

A bit of trivia: main member Phil Pickett joined Culture Club, and wrote
"Karma Chameleon"
