I was treated tonight to a "sneak preview" of some of the tracks from the
upcoming Nick Lowe tribute, "Lowe Profile," due out early next year. Walter
Clevenger is serving as Executive Producer, and since he's as big of a Nick Lowe
fan as you'll find, the quality level is extremely high.
Standout tracks amongst the handful I heard include "Cruel to Be Kind" by Ian
Gomm (backed by Walter and the Dairy Kings), "I Love the Sound of Breaking
Glass" by 20/20's Steve Allen, "What's So Funny 'Bout Peace Love and
Understanding?" by Michael Carpenter and "Love So Fine" by Robbie Rist & Chris Jackson.
Others slated to appear include Dave Alvin, Eugene Edwards, sparkle*jets uk,
Tiffany Lowe (Nick's daughter!) and Ron Flynt. Can't wait for the official
release!
