Thanks for the post Joanne! I wish I could have made Liverpool this year, next year I hope! I've been talking with Chris Star from Flare about his 1 day trip to play IPO Liverpool, and he really enjoyed it. Glad to know they impressed you. Chris also plays with Frank Hammersland in the band "Popium". If you like Flare, you should definitely check out Popium! I consider Hammersland a great pop songwriter. Their latest, "Camp" is outstanding!

I have to say this was by far the most memorable IPO I
have been to. Not only did I get to spend time in
Liverpool, a city rich in history and culture, but I
got to see an incredible amount of bands...86 of
them...that I would never have had the chance to see
in the United States. Of course, hosting IPO at the
Cavern Club just adds to the excitement of the event.
I played tourist and did everything from attending
museums about Liverpool life to taking the Beatles bus
tour. I even had fish and chips on my last day in
town!
Two bands that really stood out for me were Flare and
Bailey. I've been listening to both of their CDs
non-stop since returning.
