I'm slogging through the start of the workday, pepped up by a very cool 60s
show from Canada archived on live365. It's called My Generation Sixties Radio,
a great mix of old stuff and new stuff done in that style. Right now, in fact,
a great cut from Frank Lee Sprague from his new Merseybeat album (hear it also
on Pure Pop, by the way) is playing (Can't Stay, in the spirit of an A Hard
Day's Night-era ballad). And what's more, it's hosted by a cool DJ named Dave
Sampson.
Here's the description from the show's web site:
"A radio program devoted to the music and memories from the 1960's. The
Sixties is not your typical "oldies show" - It mainly focuses on the lesser
known and obscure bands from that influential decade. You'll hear band
profiles, theme shows and your own requests. The show has been part of the
lineup on Canada's oldest community radio station CKCU-FM 93.1 FM in Ottawa
since 1984 and is still going strong."

As far as the Beatles' reissue box is concerned, I haven't listened to it yet,
but the packaging does suck. Even the booklet sucks. Isn't somebody looking at
this stuff before it goes out the door?
