Well, if I were about to spend that much, I'd go look at it.
The late, local gear guy got burned on a Strat deal. He probably got so
wound up he didn't look close. Turned out to be some sort of Squire hack job
not a custom color 60's original.
That one looks good, and the story is good. I'm sure there are still a few
of these "in the closet" guitars around.
Crazy, these were what $350 new. I wonder where all the guitars that the
guys I knew and played with in sixties went. Probably had the paint stripped
off and a humbucker added in the '70s.
I still remember seeing a Strat in the junk room at the local shop when I
was a kid, in the mid 60's. It look ancient. Probably a very early
one...Could have got it for $100
