I picked this up last weekend. It's half covers, half
new Stamey songs. It has a weird flow, due to that
format. But with each play, I'm more impressed. YLT
does an excellent job taking Stamey's music to some
new places. There are some pop songs, but there's
also a Cream cover, a 10 minute song with a stunning
lengthy guitar solo and other detours.

This release has made me realize that I need to get me
a Yo La Tengo record -- any recommendations (and
please explain why)?

NP: The Original Mark Edwards -- Rewind Tomorrow
(this verges on Flaming Lips/Granddaddy territory, but
not quite. On a second listen, this is quite good)
