The November 2004 Fufkin.com page is up. This month
we have the following record reviews:

Mike Bennett presents full length reviews of Ted Leo +
Pharmacists, Michael Carpenter, The Arcade Fire and
K-oS, along with capsule reviews of Angie Heaton,
American Music Club, the Bullseye Records Beatles
Tribute, American Werewolf Academy, a new Kelly’s
Heels compilation, The Grip Weeds, a live David
Dondero disc, Phil Angotti, Nouvelle Vague, Travis
Morrison, and Raquel’s Boys.

Gary Glauber reviews the latest from Bowman, Scott
Murray, Jonathan Kuss & the Corporation, Farrah and
Edmund’s Crown.

Kurt Sampsel reviews a reissue from The Other Half.
We welcome Katherine Kim, who reviews the new Joss
Stone disc.

Fufkin.com pays tribute to the late Greg Shaw, who did
so much for keeping alive so much great garage, punk
and power pop with both Bomp magazine and the Bomp
record label. Mike Stax, the publisher of Ugly
Things, which is the ‘zine to get if you want to know
everything about classic ‘60s psychedelic and garage
rock, offers a remembrance of the man, and David
Fufkin also offers his thoughts on the loss of this
important figure to fans of great music.

When Gary Pig Gold was growing up, he threatened to
run away to the circus...the Rock and Roll Circus.
Now Gold writes about the Rolling Stones’ Rock And
Roll Circus.

In the ‘60s, small record labels were trying
everything to cash in on the beat music craze. This
led to numerous outright Beatle rip-off bands, such as
the Liverpool Beats, who matched poor Beatle pastiches
with limited musical talent. The Beatles weren’t the
only band to get this treatment. Michael Lynch takes
a look at Monkee Business, an attempt to cash in on
the success of Fabricated Four.

Alan Haber offers part two of his essay on the state
of modern radio.

Eric Sorensen’s Further Adventures of a Jangly Music
Fan features his takes on music from The Thanes, Water
Music, The Ringles, Stratocruiser, Big Circle, Ed
James, Outrageous Cherry and more.

Finally, Kevin Mathews is back with more of So Much
Music, So Little Time, writing about Velvet Crush,
Johnny Dowd, Edmund’s Crown, The Little Wings,
Wigglepussy, Chris Tomlin, Grain and many more.

We hope you all come and visit us.
