Your immediate acid test for unravelling bogus emails is the link it tells
you to go to. Without having to click on it you can see where it's going by
running your cursor across the link and see where it wants to direct you to
at the bottom of your browser. These fake emails always send you to a
numbered ISP addres with some clever concoction to look like the legit host
by adding a suffix to the ISP in the URL address.
Also, with things like Ebay and PayPal....they NEVER send general notices
that say: Dear Ebay Subscriber.
The real companies send personalized emails to you with your information
already in the body of the text.
Anytime you're asked to re-input user info from an email it will be fake.
The legit sites only ask for critical information upon your next visit to
their site with a legit password and user id at the time of sign-in.
