Ah but the Seeds had some killer tunes ..although they sounded similar and ......Sky had the cape. I understand he is still seen wearing the cape around L.A. I don't know if that is for supermarket openings or just shopping for eggs and bananas but there is something to be said about a man in a cape in these days (and I believe it was addressed in the Seinfeld episode in which George's dad's lawyer is spotted on the street in a cape).
The Seeds also appeared on an episode of the Munsters .
btw...Cool band alert. Riot on the Sunset Strip has been playing on the Encore cable channel. It is a silly movie with a plot that is ripe for picking by the MST3K crew BUT it does offer a glimpse of (albeit lip synced ) performances by the Standells, the Enemies and the Chocolate Watchband
I have to agree with what was said about the Doors would have been amazing Nuggets material if they would have just had one or two killer songs (even with insipid pretentious lyrics). L.A. Woman and 20th Century Fox (or any other of many Doors songs) would have been right up there with Pushing Too Hard ,Mr Farmer and Can't Seem To Make You Mine.
Post Morrison Doors material is regarded as such as it gets little or no play even though it is almost the same exact band. It pops up on Euro Nuggets type comps of dubious nature alongside such greats as Mr Pharmacist by the Other Half.
