I love Green Day's American Idiot. I think it's an extraordinary album.
Considering the current emphasis on how "moral issues" swung the outcome of
the presidential election, the lines from the title track "Maybe I am the
faggot America, I'm not part of a redneck agenda", spell out a bleak but
accurate picture of the isolation and bitterness a lot of people in the
"blue" states feel right about now. (Well, it's how *I* feel anyway!) God
bless Green Day!

As for Sparkle*Jets U.K., if you like Bamboo Lounge, you must get their
debut "In, Through and Beyond". CDBaby is currently selling an expanded
version in which you get a second disk of demos, alternate takes and live
tracks. And it comes with new liner notes by Michael Simmons and is signed
by Michael, Susan West and Jamie Knight. I believe Anna Borg tipped off the
Audities members about the expanded version a month or so ago and since I
bought it, I have not stopped playing it or turning my friends on to it.
(Thanks, Anna!) I love both Bamboo Lounge and In, Through and Beyond, but I
think I love the debut slightly more...so definitely pick it up. Oh, and
the U.K. tag is a joke...a play on how some 80's British bands would have to
add the 'U.K.' or "English" tag to their name in the USA.

Cheers,
Mark E.
