but all music is 100 percent manufactured! sometimes this is transparent -- see ashlee simpson -- and sometimes there is an attempt to cover up the artifice -- see metallica or bright eyes. but that's just a matter of marketing and positioning and public perception. the fact that every step of the musicmaking process involves manufacture and artifice is no more debatable than the fact that apples grow on trees.
