Subject Vance or Towers movie scene sighting ??

I was watching Carrie last night for the first time in ages and
when the Prom scene started I literally fell out of my chair when
I realized the Prom band was playing "Education Blues" by Vance
or Towers. It must have been them - can anyone confirm this?
I'm not sure what verses were sung but I'm very sure that the
chorus can be heard:

  High school, pre school, kindergarten rules
  Twleve long years of the Education Blues
  Teachers, preachers, principals and fools
  I don't how I ever made it through

Carrie was released in 1976 and Vance or Towers sole A&M lp
was released in 75, so the time frome is right.

Someone pinch me! Or at least confirm or deny...
