You did sleep through the '60s and '70s. Maybe
'changed the face of music' is a bit broad -- one of
the most influential artists of the '60s no doubt.
Did you sleep through Parliament/Funkadelic or The
Ohio Players, or, for that matter, The Red Hot Chili
Peppers? Not only they all owe Sly a debt, it's
likely they and so many other funk artists would
cheerfully acknowledge Sly's influence.
