MAJOR BUMMER news.......Greg Shaw, now John Peel in less than one week.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Music/10/26/john.peel.dead.reut/index.html

question: WHO exactly are the visionaries, in the present day, that are
bringing new music, new vistas of musicial creation to the younger
generations. We had folks like John Peel(even if one was in the U.S, his
influence, even in the 70's, flowed over here quite tangibly), Greg Shaw,
Lester Bangs, on and on.

But where are these types of 'revoluationaries', who *think* and *act*
independently, outside the mainstream, and bring us 'alternatives'?

Satellite Radio holds the great hope on this front, I think......but we
truly are in a period of profound status-quo, more-of-the-same in rock 'n
roll.

There's plenty of action on the internet w/ great radio shows but there
still needs to be a *personality* that can drive more from inside the
margins to embrace, evolve and change what is great about rock 'n roll so it
continues to be a vibrant, relevant and challenging art form.

God Speed John Peel, God Bless John Peel,
Bruce
