One of the bands I saw (Saturday?) night in Boston was the
ever-amazing Emergency Music.
They are like oldschool power pop kinda.. I dunno - they have a strong
Elvis Costello vibe at first, but then I heard the Kinks, and the way
they played even reminded me of the Smithereens.
Plus, the lead singer slightly resembles Rod Stewart.
Upbeat, bouncy, punchy, hella-melodic, just incredible all around.
Jangly indie-pop I think they call it.

I don't think their recordings are as good as they could be. You may
like them - but DEFINITELY see them live if you ever get a chance.
I had heard such good things about their live show and was not disappointed.
One of those "I can leave now, no band is gonna be better than this
tonight" bands. And it was true. The four bands that followed paled :)
