Gary Pig once told me that Apple Records has a 50 year business plan for
ongoing Beatles projects which began in earnest starting with the
Anthologies.

We've now seen anniversary re-issues of The White Album, Yellow Submarine
and Let It Be (the last two, albeit in altered states). It makes sense that
next up for official UK re-masters would be Abbey Road -- to close the final
chapter of the band's output. It seems logical that they'd either start at
the beginning and work their way up to Sgt. Pepper (2007 will be the 40th
for that one).

Considering that the Beatles official releases were all done in 1987 through
1989 (during the heinous EQ'd master tape glut prevelent with all the majors
at that time), there's definitely a need to remaster the entire original UK
catalogue and bring the sound up to Beach Boys re-issue quality.

I've done it with quite a few of my artist's releases and the fans are quite
grateful for it. With The Beatles fans doubley so....

Jaimie Vernon,
Bullseye
